Who's Who?

Scroll down to meet the staff at Brookside School...

Mr Kenny

I joined Brookside in 2000 as the Year 2 and Deputy Head Teacher. In 2007 I was very proud to become Head Teacher. Brookside is, without a doubt, the best school I have ever been lucky enough to work in! I enjoy listening to music and trying to encourage the school chickens to lay eggs.

Mr Kenny

Mr Lowther

"Hi. I'm Mr Lowther and I am the Deputy Head Teacher. I teach the Year 5 class. I'm also in charge of PE and organise the girls' football club. I am a big music fan
and love bands such as The Beatles
and The Stone Roses. I am also a
great fan of Nottingham Forest FC."

Mr Lowther

Mrs Brown

"I've worked at Brookside since 2004. You can find me in the school office alongside Mrs Roberts. I can honestly say that every day is different, and if anyone needs any information, the school office is the first place to call.  In my spare time I enjoy
walking my dog and being a busy mum."

Mrs Brown

Mrs Roberts

"I've been at Brookside for five years now.
I work alongside Mrs Brown in the school office on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. I like working at Brookside but I don't like having my photograph taken!"

Mrs Roberts

Mrs Clark

"I teach in the Foundation Unit with Mrs Riding. I am the Key Stage 1 co-ordinator
as well as the co-ordinator for Numeracy. I run a skipping club for children after
school. The best thing about working
in the Foundation Unit is that we have
lots of fun!"
Mrs Clark

Mrs Riding

"I teach in the Foundation Unit with Mrs. Clark. I also teach the recorder at lunch time and organise Maypole dancing with Mrs Fletcher, ready for the May Day celebrations in the village. I enjoy working with the youngest children, setting them
off on their learning journey."

Mrs Riding

Mrs Whelport

"I teach the Year 1 children at Brookside.
I am also in charge of Music, PSHE and SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) at school. I love music. I play the piano in assembly at school and organise
a recorder club for children at lunchtimes.
In my spare time I also play in a band."

Mrs Whelport

Mrs Owens

"Hi! I'm Mrs Owens and this is my second year at Brookside. I teach the children in Year 1 and Year 2. I find school a very exciting place to be because we are always busy with different activities and learning new things!"

Mrs Owens

Mr Beharall

"I am the Year 2 teacher and responsible for Literacy and Science. I also organise Year 5/6 football club and look after the school football team. In my down time, I play a bit
of football, watch films and am a keen collector and listener of music (terrible singing voice though!)."

Mr Beharall

Mrs Ison

"I used to live in France and Gibraltar, so
I especially enjoy teaching French and learning about other countries. I also
love teaching RE, which is one of my favourite subjects. At Brookside I teach
in Year 4 and Year 5. My interests
include playing the guitar and singing."

Mrs Ison

Miss Pirt

"I teach the Year 3 children at Brookside with Mrs Fletcher. At school, I am the Special Educational Needs co-ordinator. I also organise the running club after school with Miss Wiltshire. One of the best things
about teaching Year 3 is going Ice Skating in Nottingham every Christmas!"

Miss Pirt

Mrs Fletcher

"As well as enjoying Year 3, you will also find me teaching in the Year 6 classroom on Thursday mornings. I am also the History co-ordinator. Out of school, I am always busy with lots of different interests and love going abroad - especially to snowy mountains with my skis on!"

Mrs Fletcher

Mrs Chalk

"Hi! Since Mrs Sheldon retired, I am now working full time in Year 4. I am also the geography co-ordinator. I'm thoroughly enjoying teaching Year 4. I think the
children are just great!! I also have two young children of my own to keep me
busy and entertained at home."

Mrs Chalk

Mrs Hallam

"I am the Year 6 teacher at Brookside. My responsibilities include being the Key Stage 2 co-ordinator and ICT co-ordinator. I also organise the athletics club after school. One of my favourite things about teaching Year 6 is being able to go to Robinwood every year!"

Mrs Evans

"Hi! I’m a teaching assistant and I work with Year 3 and 4. One of the best things about my job is going with Year 4 on their Forest Schools adventure to Manor Farm!  In my spare time I love to travel as much as possible, read and watch my two boys play football. I also look after the chickens!"

Mrs Evans

Mrs Headington

"I've worked at Brookside for 11 years and
in that time I have gained higher level teaching assistant status. I currently work with children in Years 3 to 6. My main interest is keeping fit. During the week
I do kick boxing, aerobics, step, body conditioning and swiss ball classes!"
