Extra Curricular Clubs and Activities

We offer a number of extra-curricular clubs and activities for the children at Brookside.

Indoor activities include instrumental groups, German lessons, Science club, craft club and cooking club. Outdoor activities, which change depending on the time of year, include football, netball, athletics, cricket, rounders, cross country running and Ultimate Frisbee.

Instrumental tuition and other clubs such as German lessons, Gizmo’s Science Lab and Rattle & Roll’s On The Stage are also offered at an additional cost. We currently provide the opportunity for children to take part in drumming, ukulele and guitar lessons.

The children in Foundation also take part in Bikeability (riding balance bikes first before learning to ride a bike without stabilisers) while children in Year 5/6 take part in Cycle Training, a programme designed to give the next generation of children the skills and confidence to ride their bikes on today’s roads.

Cycle Training

“I love craft club because we get to make lots of different things. My favourite activity was making the theatre out of an old cardboard box.”

“I love playing football at school, especially when we compete against other schools. I’d love to play for a professional team when I’m older.”

“I like playing the ukulele and playing along with my favourite tunes. I particularly liked it when we performed in front of our parents and the rest of the school.”
